Wednesday Guest Spotlight

On Wednesdays we spotlight some of our 2017 Attending Guests and fun facts about them.

Daphne Reeder – you won’t learn this from her bio.  Daphne is skilled at training and handling animals and even has been known to accessorize with one of her pet snakes as a “scarf”.

Misty Massey – not only a guest but a member of ConCarolinas Staff as our Author Track Manager.  When she isn’t writing and editing, Misty studies Middle Eastern dance, and can be found often at the Carolina Renaissance Festival!

Tamsin Silver lives in a big city apartment with 4 animals. Two are her’s  – a “miniature” Australian Shepherd named Kadin and a black cat named Selene.

Alex Matsuo is a dramaturge. A dramaturge or dramaturg is a professional within a theatre or opera company who deals mainly with research and development of plays or operas.

Robert “Firekeeper” Clelland can tell you all about Zebra Finches.  Should you want to know how to tell the difference between a common finch’s wing sound and a Zebra finch’s wing sound, Robert would be the one to ask.  Because everyone knows just because you hear wings pitterpattering doesn’t mean you should immediately cry ZEBRA FINCH!

Calandra Usher spent a year in the Peace Corps in Ghana,West Africa, teaching art in a deaf school.

Emily Lavin Leverett is an avid fan of the Carolina Hurricanes and her 2 cats.  That’s what her bio says!

J.D. Blackrose is fearful that so-called normal people will discover exactly how often she thinks about wicked fairies, nasty wizards, homicidal elevators, treacherous forests, and the odd murder, even when she is supposed to be having coffee with a friend or cheering her daughter on during a soccer game.
