Welcome to our last ConChat for 2018. Today features our Author GOH, Nebula and Hugo Award winning author Seanan McGuire.
1) What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
“Growing up” spans a whole lot of territory, but going with “what is the cartoon that had the most lasting influence on who you eventually grew up to be,” I have to say My Little Pony and Friends. It was a glorified commercial pretending to be a cartoon, but as I already owned the toys, it had nothing to sell me but story, and I was an eager customer.
2) What is your go to comfort food?
Spaghetti bolognese and popcorn. Sometimes at the same time, but not very often.
3) What was the first book you read that you have gone back and read over and over again?
IT, by Stephen King. I re-read it annually, to the point that my friends can tell if I’ve pushed my re-read too long, because I start getting weird and squirrelly.
4) Current favorite song?
“Rain King,” by the Counting Crows. This answer has now remained the same for twenty-five years.
5) Current favorite TV show?
Leverage. I don’t care that it’s off the air. It’s on the air forever in my heart.
Can’t make it to ConCarolinas? Seanan will be signing at Park Road Books on Thursday, May 31st.
