The ConCarolinas Short Film Festival is dedicated to the art of the short film and the expression of independent filmmakers. In its seventh year, the ConCarolinas Short Film Festival has created a setting for local and international filmmakers to showcase artistic visions surrounding Science Fiction, Fandom, Fantasy and Adventure.
Entry Rules and Submission Guidelines
• All films must be less than 30 minutes in length.
• All entries must have a completed submission form (see below).
• All entries must be accompanied by a brief synopsis and/or artist statement.
Entry Fee
• $12 with students receiving a 50% discount. Email filmfestival@concarolinas.org with copy of your Student ID to receive the discount code.
• If your film is accepted and selected for screening, you will receive one free ConCarolinas Weekend pass!
• Filmmakers will also receive discounted passes for cast and crew. All purchases must be made by May 26, 2016. No exceptions.
Submission Format
• All films will be submitted digitally through FilmFreeway, our exclusive Festival partner.
• All footage submitted to the ConCarolinas Short Film Festival may be used by ConCarolinas for reasons including but not limited to promotion, advertising, etc.
• Please note that all submissions are final. If your film is not chosen, submissions will not be returned. Please do not send your original copy! There will be no refunds of submission fees.
Categories
• Fiction – Fan Fiction or Original Fiction films
• Fandom – Films that borrow or pay homage to existing sci-fi, horror, or fantast works.
• The Atomizer- Any film submitted to this category must run completely in less than 60 seconds; this includes all titles, credits, everything!
Awards
• Grand Prize Winners (Best Original Fiction, Best Fandom, and Best Short under 5 minutes) will receive an original trophy created specifically for the ConCarolinas Short Film Festival and a free film submission to the ConCarolinas Short Film Festival in 2017!
Additional awards may include:
- Best Script
- Best Leading Man
- Best Leading Woman
- Best Horror
- Best Suspense
- Best Animation
*Additional awards may be given on the discretion of the Film Festival Judging Committee*

• Please do not send cash. We are not responsible if your submission is lost or damaged during shipping.
