ConCarolinas 2017 Weekly ReCap and Important Message

We usually try to keep things lighthearted but the recent events in Manchester, England and the incident at Phoenix Comicon, we want our attendees, guests, vendors, dealers, volunteers, and staff to know that we want you to feel you are in a safe environment.  We were already planning to step up security.  A formal announcement will be made Tuesday.  At this time we want to emphasize 3 things:

  • See Something, Say Something – if you see something that looks wrong, tell someone. Don’t ignore your gut.
  • Weapons – we will be inspecting and peacebonding weapons.  Anything that gives us pause will be asked to be returned to your room or vehicle.  (We have a no refund policy and we will not refund your membership because your weapon is deemed inappropriate.)
  • We already have a police presence at the convention on Friday and Saturday evening and are speaking to CMPD about increasing the presence.

Now on to lighter things! Before we recap this past week, we will be making announcements next week and encourage you to check the website and social media.
