The 4th Doctor scarf being auctioned off is based on the fourth incarnation of The Doctor from the iconic British television series “Doctor Who”. The Doctor’s outfit was completed with a long knitted scarf of many colors. The story behind the making of the scarf is that the woman who made the original scarf was given a box of yarn and told to use it to knit a scarf. With no more direction than that, she knitted until the yarn was gone and thus the well recognized scarf came into being. For more information on the scarf, please visit doctorwhoscarf.com
The scarf being auctioned off has been made to be used as a prop or costume piece for a child or medium to large sized dog. It is approximately 17 feet long and 3 inches wide. (Pictured dog is not included). The colors are a bit different than the original (burgundy for brown and Carolina blue for the gray). Bidding for the item is being held on ebay. All monies collected (with the exception of shipping) will be donated to North Carolina Search and Rescue Dog Association.
