ConCarolinas 2020 is destined to be a critical hit! Join the celebration at the Hilton Charlotte University Place on May 29th-31st for the Carolinas’ longest running multi-fandom convention. It’s a weekend full of entertainment, gaming, costumes, authors, films, discussion panels and workshops with professionals in the entertainment and creative community. Come celebrate geekdom and meet some of the region’s most creative minds.
Guests of Honor for 2020 include: Butch Patrick (aka Eddie Munster), The Independents (band formerly managed by Joey Ramone), Maurice Broaddus (fantasy & horror author), Nikole McDonald-Jones (concept & game artist). In addition, you’ll be entertained by convention favorites like Mikey Mason, Now Are The Foxes, Blibbering Humdingers, and Antler Hill.
JustUs Productions will return to ConCarolinas to run tabletop gaming. Known for their quality tabletop gaming events MACE and MACE West, JustUs brings a sampling of what those conventions have to offer – board games, card games, miniature games, LARP, and RPG’s like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. JustUs will be bringing their extensive board game library and they will be hosting their popular Play To Win events. What’s new for 2020?
- Check out the “escape dungeon” by the Puzzles & Perils crew. “It’s what happens when your D&D group wanders into an escape room.”
- The interest in the ConCarolinas Film programming continues to grow and the convention has received more submissions for its Short Film Festival than ever.
- ConCarolinas will be hosting the exclusive NC premiere of Jaysen Buterin’s full-length film, Kill Giggles.
- This year brings a new standard of professionalism as Nat Ryan and Derek Nieman take the reins of the costuming programming track. The annual costume contest will offer both a craftsmanship based contest and a live costuming showcase for all levels to display their skills on stage.
- After numerous requests, Rocky Horror Picture Show will be returning in all its decadent glory.
