ConChat with Gaming GOHs Clint and Jodi Black

Today features our Gaming Guests of Honor – Clint and Jodi Black.

1) What was your favorite cartoon growing up?

Jodi – That’s a tough one! Reaching the farthest back these come to mind: GI Joe, My Little Pony, and Dungeons & Dragons (although I didn’t figure out there was a game I could play until college)

Clint – Growing up I was a fan of the classics, Jonny Quest and the original Scooby Doo, but I never missed an episode of Thundarr the Barbarian if I could help it. Seriously, how many Saturday morning kids’ cartoons had the apocalypse in the intro. That rocks!

2) What is your go to comfort food?

Clint – Pie. Preferably a fruit pie like cherry, but all pie has its time.

Jodi – Chocolate, the darker the better!

3) What was the first book you read that you have gone back and read over and over again?

Jodi – Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.

Clint – The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

4) Current favorite song?
Jodi – “Stay with me, Lord” by modern British composer Will Todd, which I perform with the Hickory Choral Society March 26th. Chills. Oh the harmony. No dissonance. Seriously, check it out.

Clint – A metal remix of the Escape From New York theme I found on YouTube. The internet is amazing!

5) Current favorite TV show?

Clint – Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Jodi and I watch an episode or two in our rare time to relax. Not all shows need to be high drama or over-the-top comedy. It’s kind of like clothes, our favorites tend to be the most comfortable.

Jodi – We’re waiting for the next seasons of Flash and Supergirl to hit Netflix, so right now I’m watching Call the Midwife. Love it!
