ConCarolinas is proud to be working with local charities and shelters in our book drive efforts again this year. All books are donated to worthy shelters and charities throughout Mecklenberg County. Please bring your old books and donate to a good cause.

Board Games, RPGs, Live Action and more . . .
ConCarolinas proudly features some of the best gaming a sci-fi con can bring you, brought to you by the people behind MACE and minimace. RPGs and board games; war games and card games; RPGA and MMRPG; Dungeons & Dragons to Star Fleet; Deathstacks to Monopoly. We try to bring the fan the games they want to play.
Anime Showings and Panels
Local anime clubs join us to help with the anime side of our video viewing room. We will have several hours a night and an early morning session of Anime films, plus several discussion panels.
Boffer Events & Panels
Learn to make a safe "boffer" weapon for light contact melee sports and events. Using basic supplies and a bit of imagination, Safesmiths will guide you through the process of making a simple short sword, which is the foundation for all other boffer weapons of this type. We also will educate you on safe use of your weapon and how to inspect your weapon for safety. When you are finished, you walk away with a new sword and a good idea of how to wield it safely with your friends.
CC Charity Auction
Saturday night, we will host an auction to raise funds our charity. Many of our dealers as well as supporting companies have donated products to our auction. See our Charity Information page for more information on our charity.
ConCarolinas Costume Contest
Saturday evening, we will present our Costume Contest. The contest is open to all age groups, and prizes will be awarded.
ConCarolinas Short Film Festival
ConCarolinas Short Film Festival is dedicated to the art of the short Science Fiction film and the expression of independent filmmakers. In its opening season, ConCarolinas Short Film Festival has created a setting for local and international filmmakers to showcase their interpretations of Science Fiction, Fandom, Fantasy and Adventure.

ConCarolinas will host several tracks focusing on specific types of fans including Stargate, Filking, Anime, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Pirate fans, costuming, and many others.
Independent Fan Media Track
Webzines, Fanzines, Web Comics, Fan Audio, Podcasting, Independent Films and Fan Films
Every year we have several panels devoted to Webzines, Fanzines, Web Comics, Fan Audio, Podcasting, Independent Films and Fan Films, and any other type of Fan produced media. Join some local experts that have been successful at these various mediums and learn more about them.
Literary/Writer's Track
Our author guests will be providing a variety of discussion panels to help the budding writer or just those interested in literary endeavors. Events include a variety of literary topics with the authors, workshops and discussion panels. Meet the authors up-close and personal. Find out what makes them tick, what inspires them, and what they are reading these days.

Music, Filking and Klingon Karaoke
Geeks behind the Mic!
We host a variety of music events including concerts by our music guests, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Keela and Katkith's Klingon Karaoke (Karaoke Night Klingon-style), Open Filking all night and the occasional Drum Circle.

Mandalorian Mercs: Mandalorian Bounty Hunt
No Disintegration
The Mandalorian Mercs Bounty Hunt game was the brainchild of several Mandalorian Mercs members back in 2008. The purpose of the game is twofold: To interact in an "in universe" capacity with event patrons, and to encourage charity fund-raising for our local communities.
It's easy to take part in the Mandalorian Bounty Hunt. Just drop by the Mandalorian Mercs fan table on Saturday, June 5th from 11am – 5pm. Fill out a "Bounty Contract" sheet, and pay the appropriate amount to place a bounty on your friends. Once the contract is placed a team of Mandalorians will head out and track down your bounty, cuffing them and bringing them back to serve time in the Mandalorian’s jail cell. In order to be released from jail, marks must pay the bounty or raise "bail money" from the crowd, which equals half of the original amount paid on the contract. Otherwise, the mark will remain in the jail cell until their contract time expires.
At the conclusion of the game on Saturday evening at 5pm, a drawing will be held for those who both participated as "Contracts" and "Marks". Drawing prizes range from signed Star Wars memorabilia, to toys and collectibles.
Money goes towards the Mercs' "Help A Little Warrior" fund. This is something Mercs as a club started back in 2007 to provide a present filled Christmas for sick and underprivileged children that reside in our chapter's local communities.
In 2007 our Ohio chapter provided a Christmas for 2 young boys from the money raised. 2008 the NC/SC chapter provided a Christmas for a 3 child family in Winston-Salem. 2009 Mercs raised enough money to split between our GA and NY chapters. GA chapter provided $500 in toys to the local"Toys for Tots", and NY chapter used their $500 to help build a "Healing Room" for a child suffering from critical illness.
