Born 13th August 1953, Charlotte, NC, lifelong resident. Married to John Patrick Kane in September 1998, first marriage for us both, no children, two cats. Graduate of Charlotte public schools (South Meck and Myers Park), Central Piedmont Community College and UNC-Chapel Hill (BA '75)

Starfleet Info/Bio

Member of the shuttle Southern Star from September 1985 to June 1987, when it was commissioned as the USS Hornet. Have served on the Hornet continuously in several positions, including MedTech (under Sue Hampton), Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Communications, newsletter editor, Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator; OCP Coordinator (current), Executive Officer, Commanding Officer and Executive Director. Am currently Interim CO. Regionally, am Asst NCSC Sec Rep, R1 Co-Treasurer and Official R1 Crossposter (or R1 Spammer).

My Trek persona is T'Marr, a Vulcan/Betazed (logic with feeling!), since I love both Spock and chocolate. <G> 

Non-Fleet Fandom-related:

First con was a RoVaCon in Salem, VA in 1986. Have attended MOC, ROC of Ages, KnightStar (more registration), Alliance Trek, Phenomicon and others. Worked security at a number of Trek-O-Ramas.

Charlotte2004 Worldcon Bid Registrar since January 2000, as Registrar for SECFI (Southeastern Convention Fandom, Inc., the parent organization) and their NASFiCharlotte2005 bid. 

ConCarolinas Director of Registration from inception (Nov 24, 2001). Registration is largely staffed by Fleet and KAG members. Have also worked registration at various Fleet events.

Peronal info

I am a 'cradle Episcopalian' and have attended Holy Comforter Episcopal for over two decades. Sing in the adult choir and also ring in the handbell choir. Also am a layreader.

I love to read, particularly mysteries and historical novels. Also have taken French, Spanish, Italian and German, and would have taken Gaelic if UNC-CH had not kept cancelling the class. 

Family: Three brothers, one sister, three sisters-in-law, one sister-outlaw, seven nieces and two nephews ranging in age from 1 to 26 years, and a growing pack of great-nieces and -nephews. Both parents ailing but still alive, no surviving grandparents.
