2010 will mark our 9th year in existence, including our prequel year which was a 2-day event. We will be in the same hotel as we have always been, the Marriott Executive Park in Charlotte, NC.

What we bring to DeepSouthCon is a dedicated crew of diverse fans from all over the Carolinas who love fandom, conventions and ConCarolinas.
ConCarolinas has worked hard to develop a strong following of solid fans of all interests - from literary to anime, gaming to constuming. We are in an ideal location just off highway 77 in Charlotte, 10 minutes from the NC/SC border. We bring in many fans from both the Carolinas (thus our name... ConCarolinas with an 's'... we include both Carolinas).
ConCarolinas is about one thing and one thing only - the fans. We are a con put together by fans for the fans. We include literary tracks featuring some of the South's best authors, anime tracks run by local anime clubs and fans, music and media tracks featuring local filkers, fanfilm and other media makers, and gaming organized by the same people that run gaming for MACE and StellarCon.
We are proud to be the home con for several fan groups - The Buccaneers of the Atlantic Coast, Carolina Filk, Dark Star Quadrant of KAG, Requiem of the Outcast, SG-SOCOM, Star Wars Fanworks, and STARFLEET's Region One NCSC Sector.
We hope to have everyone's support in our effort to bring DeepSouthCon to Charlotte for the first time and to the Carolinas for a third time. Voting for the 2010 DSC will take place at StellarCon 32 in 2008. Any attending member at StellarCon 32 may vote on the DSC bid. Vote CC-DSC 2010!
What is DeepSouthCon?
DeepSouthCon is an annual science fiction convention, which is hosted in different cities in the Southern United States. Site selection is by vote of the membership of a given DSC, for the convention to be held 2 years in the future. DSC is often, but not always, held in conjunction with an existing annual convention so the time of year varies. Many regular attendees of DeepSouthCon are also members of the Southern Fandom Confederation, but there is no direct relationship between the two organizations.
DSC issues two principle awards: the Phoenix, which is awarded to a science fiction professional editor, author, or artist with connections to the South, and the Rebel, which is awarded to a like-placed fan. The Phoenix and Rebel awards are considered lifetime achievement awards for a professional or fan who has done the most for southern fandom.
A Rubble award to the person who has done the most to southern fandom in the past year is also awarded at the DeepSouthCon, usually good-naturedly. The Rubble is not an officially-sponsored convention award.
